Obama Skips Hillary's Speech & Plays Golf

I am extremely shocked to hear that while Hillary was giving her speech today, Obama was out playing Golf. Just goes to show how much Obama really cares about Hillary and Hillary supporters.

So how do you feel about Obama skipping out on Hillary's speech for a round of golf? Post your thoughts in the comments

Everyone has asked for a source. Here is one from the Boston Globe
Just do a google news or a google blogsearch on the keywords "Obama Golf"

nobody's commented. 1400 people have signed the petition by now. thats nothing. at this rate it would take hillary years to reach the target 5,000,000 this campaign has become incredibally sad and desperate and honestly its painful to look at. let it go hillary, its over. your not running as an independant, your not even gonna get to send a message to the dnc. your done

It infuriates me that many people support this man who can't make the right choices. Here his camp EXPECTS Hillary to just drop everything and endorse the man without even stopping to think of her supporters, yet he doesn't seem to show that he is worth endorsing. Show some respect! Who does this big eared freak think he is?

I'm shocked..... can you see my face?

He will string her along and make her work for his own benefit AND THEN AND ONLY THEN will his Hine-ass speak.

His not talking or treating her rude, is just his way of punishing her .... bad girl, now go home and iron a shirt..... "sweetie".

Obama has to be nuts if he thinks he can fool the smart people, I believe in no time everyone will forced to kneel to black people and apologize for slavery in public...
If Obama wins his people will overturn cars and burn houses...

She wasn't stamping her feet for two months. She was trying to do what would be best for the American people.
Obama is so smug. Yet I am voting for him hahahaha.

Are you really surprised? His follower are smug, obnoxious and elitist, just like their leader.

It's amazing that very few people (especially those who support Obama) can see why Hillary waited to announce her decision. It's a shame she is so considerate of the people who supported her.... it's a shame that she took her time in preparing a well thought out professional speech that would consider EVERYONE who would be affected. It's really to bad that she couldn't emulate the Super D's, quick back stabbing, make no sense, inconsiderate response to announce her intentions ..... and to break the spirit of everyone around her. ONCE AGAIN, SHE WAS THINKING ABOUT HER SUPPORTERS, HER FAMILY AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ..... good thing they kicked her out of there, she sounds to much like a President to me!!!

This is false! The Change Campaign spent the whole time during her speech getting others to watch this speech that was so electric in approach. We were so proud of Hillary Clinton, and this just hurts to see how far we come, and people can't state the truth. This was a clean campaign by both parties and the better person won. Here is a script from the emails sent during her speech. Someone must have gave her the wrong information.

Campaigners:

Hillary Clinton announced her support for our campaign today.

Senator Clinton made history over the past 16 months -- not just because she has broken barriers, but because she has inspired millions of Americans with her strength, her courage, and her commitment to causes like universal health care that make a difference in the lives of hardworking Americans.

Our party and our country are stronger because of the work she has done throughout her life, and I'm a better candidate for having had the privilege of competing with her.

Senator Clinton will be invaluable to our efforts to win in November, and I look forward to campaigning alongside her to bring this country the change it so desperately needs.

Hillary and her supporters are joining us at an urgent moment. You can watch her right know as she makes her speech. Together we can do more than just win an election. Together we can change this country, and we can change the world.

And we are honored to have Hillary Clinton at our side as we do it.

EXACTLY! He could have been at her side just as he was at Richardson's side and just as he was at Edwards' side. It was ironic that she said that she stands with Obama yet Obama was nowhere near her. That's why Hillary supporters are upset. An email is not the same. He should have "physically" been there! Her endorsement is more important than Richardson's or Edwards' yet she got less respect.

Calm down guys. He has to be with his family after a really long primary season. it's TRADITION for the nominee to do so. Also Obama & Hillary probably talked about it in their meeting. Hillary's speech was for US, her supporters, to support him. It was time for US to see what WE have accomplished with her. Obama there would have been a distraction. She needed to have word with her followers. Take a chill pill. We need to support Obama to beat McCain in November: it's next best thing to Hillary. Let's go guys! Hillary FOREVER, Obama in 2008!

Anonymous said...

Senator Clinton may support that asshole but I surely do not. In fact, posters like Anonymous at 5:13pm make it just that much easier for me and alot of other Clinton supporters to cross the Aisle and vote for McCain.

Obama is an idiot, his supporters are uneducated thugs, and he will never get into office without the Clinton supporters, so i suggest the Obama supporters keep their rude comments to themself before they talk their way into a November loss!

The man is a human being and needs time for relaxation. He doesn't need to support Hillary 24/7. They're different candidates. Freaking out over one little incident like this is petty of you. In my opinion it just shows that he's human and a well rounded person. Missing one speech doesn't change how capable he is of the job. Far more capable than Hillary, who is content to just ride on Bill's coat tails.

I am very annoyed that Obama was playing golf during Hillarys speech. That was out right rude!! He has no class! I've read comments from others stating that he needed a break. OMFG..waiting one more day would not have killed the man. Hillary is what this country needs! We are now screwed until 2012!

I agree with Emile. This was our moment, and Hillary didn't want him there. However, his not even watching her speech was like a slap in the face (once again) to us, showing that he cares nothing about our feelings at all.

I also agree with the Obama letter that this is an urgent moment in his campaign. It is urgent that he gain our support, so why did he dis her by not even watching her speech? Strike one, Barack.

I and many other Hillary supporters are willing to listen to him to see what he's going to do to mend the wounds he and his campaign and his backers (including the media and the DNC) have caused not only to us, but to the party. I've already left the Democratic Party and registered as an Independent. If I don't hear what I want to hear, I'm voting Libertarian or Green. I won't vote for McCain.

I'm uncomfortable knowing that as a "progressive" I am in the company of the hateful, bitter, clouded types who are commenting here. Hillary should have conceded tuesday night- she robbed him of his victory showing how selfish and petty she can be! He deserved to golf and ignore her big day like she did his. Tit for tat if you ladies want to play it like that. Barack will bring out lots of new voters, we don't need these messed up, overly emotional Hillary supporters. Good riddance!

Obama and his annoying Jackie O wannabe wife can kiss my ass! McCain makes a good point about Obama thinking he deserves the nomination because he's black, rather than trying to serve the American public.

Unknown said...

Can anyone prove that this is true? I'd like a little proof before I make a judgement...though I have to admit that my intuition was telling me that he didn't witness the speach. If it is true, it just goes to show that women have further to go than Afro-American men AND it shows that he's a liar. He said he was going on a bike ride with his girls and a date with his wife. I wonder what other empty promises he's making.

Anonymous said...

Maybe he wasn't playing golf at all... perhaps he was running under heavy sniper fire!! Did you ever think of that? I mean what would the point to watching it be anyway? If you've seen Hillary lie to the American people once you seen it a million times.

What more do you people want, she did congratulate Obama on Tuesday's speech to her supporters. They certainly didn't need her to go on and on about him, remember it was also a victory speech for winning South Dakota. She said we have to elect a Democrat to the White House and she wasn't talking about herself..it was Senator Obama. Now if he was out playing golf today so be it, I bet it wasn't with any of the former Trinity United Church of Christ members who helped bring him to this rise of power, he ditched them. I hate to tell all of the blacks who whole heartedly supported him during the primary, he doesn't need your vote now, he's taken it for granted and now playing on his "white" side. He turned his back on his own people whom he had spent the last 20 years in church listening to that crazy religion they believe in. Look out America. Obama suddenly doesn't go that church anymore and wears a flag pin now which I'd like to shove up his ass. To his Campaign Advisors, you're doing a fabulous job with him. Good advice to put the flag pin on him each day now that you figured out that it was a way to get votes. Good advice to have him diss the church and the Reverend and Pastors and Bill Aires. Good advice to have him quit talking about being an African American candidate at every rally and suddenly change to talking about how this campaign has inspired his daughters...Good advice to have him quit talking about Martin Luther King Jr. every other sentence. The advisors quickly learned that it was the white vote he needed and talking about slavery which was "so a million years ago" was not going to get the vote. Now he acts like he's white. Which has always intrigued me, if you're half black, you're half white, he just used his race to his advantage to gain attention. Dear God, who cares what color one's skin is and I'm so sick of everyone saying that whites are predjudiced. It's the blacks that have segregated affiliations, clubs, groups etc. all usually with "BLACK" in the name of the organization. How many groups do you know of with "WHITE" in the name? Furthermore, if there is a group with "WHITE" in the name the black's would say we were prejudiced. Yet I bet whites are not allowed to be members of black organizations. Isn't that prejudice? What about college scholarships that only blacks can apply for, it's all bull if you ask me. Vote McCain, at least he's an honorable man. Obama promised to change Washington politics, claiming to be different and somehow better than other politicians, yet he just does whatever is convenient at the time to get the votes. He has no platform of his own. He had to wait until Hillary had her's on her website so he could go and copy them. He's a joke.

McCain in 2008, Hillary in 2012!

For the first time in my life, I'm voting republican. Obama doesn't deserve my vote after the disrespect he showed Hillary.

Brian VA said...

Becoming entrenched in this my candidate is better then your candidate is completely pointless. The truth of the matter is that enough animosity exists from Hillary supporters that Obama will lose. I have changed my support from Hillary to John Mccain, and I am making the argument to as many of my family and friends as is humanly possible. Obama is a hack and as much a typical politician as the Bushs. His vanity and ego is truly disturbing to me, and he and his wife are the most unpatriotic pair I have seen. The Republicans will play clips of Rev.(the title is almost comical) Wright on repeat. Call me bitter if you like, but when this race comes to a conclusion I will be saying,"I TOLD YOU SO!"

What was he supposed to sit in the front row or what? He was allowing this last day to be about her, interesting I found it respectful for him to stay out of the spotlight for the day.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone have any clips or a text link to support that he was out playing golf while she was speaking? Comments are being made all across this page as if some of you were on the course. Not saying he wasn't out enjoying a game of golf, it would just be nice if someone who is so passionate about his non-campaign activities would include a link when trying to argue the point of him disrespecting her. Maybe this game of golf was already planned; had she conceded like she was supposed to on Tuesday, you all wouldn't think he was being disrespectful to her, if in fact he really was out playing golf. She could've conceded and then offered a more dedicated speech to her supporters at another time. I understand that there is a lot of hurt and disappointment-I had no plans to vote for her if she had won the nomination, but it was only because of her attitude of attacking him to lift herself, which some people just call "politics".

I feel as though she went into the race feeling like, "oh, I have this sewn up". I am a supporter of the Obama movement and have not an ounce of elitism in me. Also, if someone could please offer a few examples as to how rude or disrespectful Senator Obama has been to Senator Clinton. Please expound.

I hear people referencing him as an elitist. This reference doesn't sound like "your" individual opinion, it sounds as though you are a parrot and you're just repeating her comments from her "attack file". Be an individual, allow no one to define your expression, including the leaders you follow.

If you all consider him rude and disrespecful, please explain her actions towards him. How would you define the following:

Her reference of the Bobby Kennedy assassination as a reason for her not to drop out of the race.

Her not publicly speaking against her husband's reference to Jesse Jackson losing in South Carolina.

The above are just a few of many.

I await the responses.

where is your source to support that he was playing golf???? you're not the same person who spread the lies about the koran are you? :P geez. at least name a source.

He will never be able to withstand the attack the GOP is going to bring on. Hillary could have and that is why she was undermined at every pass.

He is responsible for the division in our party and because of that he doesnt have my vote.

He sold out his job as a senator and never voted on issues so he wouldn't have to explain himself when running for President and because of that he doesnt have my vote.

He claims to be Christian but is associated with a Church that is so unchristian it is disturbing and because of that he doesnt have my vote.

Then he turns his back on the very people that got him where he was(because they were no longer helping him). Did he even believe in the Church or was it for political gain? Because of that he doesnt have my vote.

If he can turn his back on his Church of 20 years he will turn his back on any group that is not beneficial to him. Because of that he doesnt have my vote.

His support is fanatical and unreal. It is the same type of support that Bush had when he started. It has been bought. He has sold out. He has bought his support on promises that are so seductive that people turned thier backs on Hillary that had been on her side for years.

He is a pied piper and I watch his followers follow. I don't see how they can't see his tune is off key. They listen to his song as if it was being sung just for them. Obama is for Obama. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't turn his back on several more groups of people that he no longer needs between now and November.

I never fell for the Bush groupies.. even when it was "unpatriotic" to say so. I am not falling for Obamamaniacs. The best thing Obama can hope for is for people like me to stay home and not vote. However, that is not likely. I would rather vote for McCain just to give Hillary a better chance in 2012.

wow...some of these comments are just down right rude!!! Hillary is amazing and should have won this nomination and the entire election. To me this is just highway robbery!! Seriously though, her speach was amazing. I am soo glad I was able to see it in person. She had to swallow a lot of pride to come out and endorse Obama (repetively) and speak about what's best for the Democratic party. I don't want Obamam in office. I can't say I want McCain in office either, but I want Hillary to be able to run in 4 years. So this is going to be a tough decision as for who to vote for in Novemember. For those of you saying "Hillary it's over", go to Obama's page and talk crap. We don't want you here insulting Hillary(especially when all she deserves is praise)!!!

Don't know why his actions surprise anyone...he's a sexist...this is who he is.This is sexist way of saying he doesn't respect nor does he care to pretend he has the respect to listen to what she says..Howard Dean has let this happen...and he too is a sexist...that is what this is all about, the little boys in Washington, like Ted Kennedy the murderer, who left a young girl to die, his brothers who people hold up on pedestals and were womanizers and involvled with many women like Marilyn Monroe, who killed herslef while involved with boby Kennedy, this is the kind of sad men this country admires, and these are the kind of men who don't want a woman running the country...It's sexism at the worst level ever and even in this century it's still out there for all the young women in this country to see...Talk about entiltled...as Obama's friend the crazy priest was railing that Hillary felt, it isn't Hllary who believes she is entitled, it's Obama....why, because he is black..and he thinks that he will get what he wants because he is black, and not because he is an experienced Senator who has a great track record, with success...he does't...if any of the black voters cared, they would look his record up and that would be why they vote for another candidate...they are not..they are just choosing him BECAUSE he is BLACK...what they don't realize is that he is only black...to get elected..he is for the people with money, wealth...and people like OPRAH, who is a billionaire and Tom Cruise who is crazy as a loon...but, has lots of money..they just want someone in office who wont affect them and their money...that's what is so sad about his wooing the black communities with false hopes and making them believe he will be their saviors...he doesn't care about the poor people, thats why he's called an elitist...just wait...he's only part black...that is why you see so many genuine black people voting for Senator CLinton, she has proven she does care about people with lower incomes, African Americans and Whites alike...she has always been for the working people who worked hard and had little and needed help......I have lots of African American friends and they originally were for Obama, after watching how radical he is and how divisive his associates are, they switched...they believe he is a racist...and would do so much harm to the Black and white working class community...and that's for sure me...Obama playing golf when Senator Clinton is giving her speech, shows me he doesn't have respect for women, and he is simply a sexist, racist, egotistical person. Shame on him...We wanted Senator CLinton and we still do...WE WILL NOT VOTE FOR BHO...NOT EVER> WE ARE VOTING FOR MCCAIN...

I am a Hillary supporter,
but I do not believe signing a petition is the right thing to do.
If we care about getting a democrat into office in November,
our best bet should be to NOT split up the democrat vote.
Thats exactly how McCain will make it into office. Just because she didnt make it to the nomination, doesnt mean we should support trying to find any way to get into office even if its not fair. If we do that, we might as well be republicans

I think what I have always thought, that Barrak Hussein Obama is an Arogant A##HOLE.He cares about noone but himself.I doubt he even really cares about his supporters.Hillary should be the Presidential Democratic Nominee, she cares for everyone and everything.I doubt whatever Barrak is promising to do if he becomes President he will do.He is a LIAR.

Obama did watch her speech and called her afterward. He was unable to reach her because she was talking to supporters.

Let us not spread falsehoods.

It is funny to me that so many are shocked that Obama is the one heading into the big election. After all, these are the fabulously intelligent middle Americans who actually voted Bush back into office for a second term!!! Noone has made any comments regarding the nature of either campaign or what their goals and ideas are. Only that one is black and the other is a woman. There's a bit more to it folks.

However, it is most definately a reflection of character that Obama would head to the golf course in this situation... Rude and uninterested in anything but himself. I sure hope when he has to attend foreign policy meetings and the like he doesn't skip out to take a smoke break!!!

i think the thing we need to remember is that hillary's decision to endorse barack at all is purely political. while endorsing him shes still hasnt conceded the race or put her full support behind him either but i dont see any coverage on that. its because hillary lost and is beginning to be forgotton about and she cant take defeat. if she fully supports barack obama and the democratic party than why is she trying to run as independant? i think its sad that this is the best she can do. let it go, dont get mad because obamas resting up for the general elections

He absolutely did not play golf during Senator Clinton's speech. This is another specious lie posted by someone who knows that she/he cannot win a debate on the facts.

Instead, you're forced to rely on sideshow tactics like this.

To answer some other points made here, I would like to say that I, as an ardent Obama supporter, never wanted her to withdraw from the nominating process before the voting was done. The entire process was beneficial, not only to both candidates, but to their supporters as well. Senator Obama was forced to take punch after punch from Senator Clinton, and her spirit made sure that he never got a break. (I'm not talking about the media.) Senator Clinton is a much better public speaker (speech reader) than she was at the beginning of the campaign.

Senator Clinton had every right to stay in the race until it was over. But no one can point to an example of Senator Obama requesting, suggesting or demanding that Senator Clinton leave the race. Obama seems to be being blamed for the annoying chatter of the msm.

And, yes - there are some very condescending and annoying Obama supporters. There are some racist and insensitive Clinton supporters.
Here's a post from this very page:

"Obama has to be nuts if he thinks he can fool the smart people, I believe in no time everyone will forced to kneel to black people and apologize for slavery in public...
If Obama wins his people will overturn cars and burn houses...
They are animals !!!

June 7, 2008 5:25 PM

In addition to being nonsensical, hysterical dribble, he manages to refer to all black people as animals. Does this mean that Senator Clinton is racist? Of course not. Senator Clinton has been one of this country's most outspoken defenders of civil rights and racial equality.

The point is that there have been a lot of bad things said on both sides. Hyper-Obama partisans believe that only Clinton hurled insults during the campaign. Die-hard Clinton supporters claim to be inhabiting a world where Obama walks around with a pitchfork and hands aprons out to women that he passes on the street.

Let's have a little rationale in this discussion. I'm all for opening up a dialogue, even if it doesn't lead anywhere. That used to be the great thing about this country - we could disagree without exchanging insults. I hope that we can get back to that place soon.

There's so much to discuss.

Obama got his disrespect honestly. Right from the DNC and the Good Ole Boys Club that run the Same Old Washington Political Party that the candidate of "change" and "hope" doesn't want to be a part of.

Funny, all the old croonies (Kennedy, Richardson, Edwards, Dean) are standing side by side with Obama.

Just remember the last elected president that spouted "change".

That's right, it was Bush.
So much for hope and change in Washington!
