Kos a huge Obama supporter over at the DailyKos is starting to see the problem with Obama.
Last minute Kos decided not to donate 2300 to Obama and here are his reasons
All of a sudden, there was a lot of cowering when, just days ago, we got to read this:It's going to be one bad hang over once the Obama Kool Aid wears offWhen Mr. Wenner asked how Mr. Obama might respond to harsh attacks from Republicans, suggesting that Democrats have "cowered" in the past, Mr. Obama replied, "Yeah, I don’t do cowering."
Could've fooled me, and maybe he is. Maybe what looks like cowering to me is really part of that "moving to the center" stuff everyone keeps talking about. But there is a line between "moving to the center" and stabbing your allies in the back out of fear of being criticized. And, of late, he's been doing a lot of unecessary stabbing, betraying his claims of being a new kind of politician. Not that I ever bought it, but Obama is now clearly not looking much different than every other Democratic politician who has ever turned his or her back on the base in order to prove centrist bona fides. That's not an indictment, just an observation.
Now I know there's a contingent around here that things Obama can do no wrong, and he must never be criticized, and if you do, well fuck you! I respect the sentiment, but will respectfully disagree. We're allowed to do that here. But fair notice -- I will never pull a Rush Limbaugh and carry water for anyone. Not for the Democratic Congress, and not for our future Democratic president. When anyone does something I don't care for, I will say so. I've never pulled my punches before, so why start now?

Our Democratic Governor loves Obama and reportedly said the GOP would be using scare tactics against Obama and using words to smear him.
Unfortunately it isn't the words of the GOP that is scaring me, it is the WORDS THAT COME OUT OF OBAMA'S OWN MOUTH that scare the heck out of ME.
The manipulation at the DNC convention not allowing Hillary on the first ballot has already begun and the delegates are scared out of their wits. Between GOP trashing Hillary and DNC allowing it and selecting Obama as their puppet I fear for this great country of ours. They expect ClintonDems to fall over for McCain who is a nice guy, but can he lead this country as well as Hillary could?
Clintondems need to start a new party and I think "PUMACAT" is a way to go. Hillary would you be interested in representing our party??????
love America, I could not say it any better, and I agree with you...
The tactics that the DNC will use
to keep Hillary away from the 1st ballot is in my estimation breaking the law of the land...Obama can do no wrong and the DNC has fell in line
with him...Of course they have waited a long time for a black man to run,
but there is many black men out there that would do a much better job...and not have his elitist head in the air..obama feeds the media with what he wants, how he wants it, and what he will not stand for, and they eat it up...If that does
not scare you, nothing will..The Pied Piper is still walking folks...it is time to stop him at every bend because our country is
at stake...scare tactics..I don't believe so...This man is the Pied Piper, and if you follow him, you will be fed to the rats..and Obama will come out a winner !
I respectfully take a slightly different look at SeasonedCooks' comment on :
I do not believe the DNC fell for Obama's pied piper method, I believe they are ALL INVOLVED in this PIED PIPER coup d'etat.
Howard, Nancy, Donna, Barack and others STOOD BY AND SAID NOTHING AGAINST DISCRIMINATION HAPPENING RIGHT BEFORE THEIR EYES.
And, turning a blind eye to obvious discrimination is not what I'm looking for in my political party. That is NO CHANGE I WANT.
The DNC is AFRAID to have Clinton on the ballot. Their PIED PIPER COUP D'ETAT may not make it through an actual democratic vote!!!
Jerks, all of those elected officials on board for this when, in their heart, they know better.
All I have to say is karma can be a bitch sometimes, especially when she looks you in the eyes and smiles as she shoots a flaming arrow at you. The smile is just so you remember what's coming back at you and why.
We need to stop wringing our hands about Obama's shortcomings, whether Hillary will be his VP,etc. Our energy would be better spent on how to write the woman into office. Who is researching that and coordinating that?
The public needs to know that is possible and we need to be aware of the many difficulties that we will face. If we are serious about how we support Hillary and think she is the best of the 3, we need to really "have her back".
To Poster #4 - I agree that we need to focus our energies in a constructive way. Blogging is great and we all need support from each other, but we need to have a united vision and a coordinated effort (which I don't think is happening yet - too many seperate orgs with various visions and ideas about how to move forward). Regarding writing Hillary in, given how write-ins vary from state to state and, perhaps more importantly, given the fact that while 18,000,000 of us voted for her in the primaries, a large portion of those 18,000,000 switched to Obama. So, I think it's naive to think that we are 18,000,000 strong and therefore can tip the election to Hillary.
Right now I think the most concrete thing to focus on is the convention, having our voices heard, making sure there is a roll call vote. Related to that, I think we should all be bombarding the press, the superdelegates and the DNC with letters as to why we feel as we do.
I so wish we could get ourselves organized into a more cohesive voice.
It's about time people are waking up...Hillary...and, Bill took so much abuse from the media, etc...only because some "smooth talker" has managed to sway the public into believing that he is the best that there is....WRONG...I'm scared IF he is elected...Hillary is my State Senator and appeared in upstate NY today...of course, our local press had a few questions for her...one being would she consider running again...and, she said at this point she didn't know..(I'm thinking that she knows but is keeping it under raps...smart woman) and the other question was...would she consider being V.P. and she said that was up to Obama...Personally...I don't think that Hillary nor Bill should help him win in November...Obama and his supporters have done all that they could to "push" Hillary out....let him go this alone...the man knows that both Clinton's carry power.....let him fail.....AMERICA had better wake up before November...because...if he is elected....we are stuck with the man for "4 YEARS"....
I agree with anonymous #2. We aren't organized and there are too many different ideas and visions. I believe a write-in candidacy for Hillary will be a waste of time. Similarly Hillary, a life-long Demcrat will not go independent.
We must do what we can to see that Hillary & her supporters get their just due at the convention and then we must vote for McCain to defeat Obama. Anything else is just venting frustration. catm31
To poster #7 - I couldn't have said it better. I think you're right on in your assessment of the situation. I'm right there with you.
Also, to poster #2 (by the way, I love reading your posts, seasoncook), it's amazing to see the correlations between what's going on now and how Obama handled his campaign when he was running for his seat in the Illinois state senate. He ran a ruthless campaign while appearing all sugar and spice on the outside and he arranged things so he was the only Democratic name on the ballot, doing so based, in part on having a strong legal team that picked things apart based on technicalities. I've been amazed to learn that David Axelrod has a history of being very close with the infamous Daley politician of Chicago. Anyway, it goes on and on. In sum, Obama seems to be leaving a trail of highly qualified female candidates in his wake via ruthless political tactics and smooth talking.
We must ensure that the convention is not a sham, that Hillary has the support she deserves, and then we must work to get McCain elected. Sad, but true.
it is about time the media starts waking up about their "messiah". the other day i actually heard rachael maddow (however you spell her last name) on msnbc say "how many times are we (liberal media)going to be slapped by obama before we start slapping back?". i almost fell over! i could not believe my ears! of course there were those (gene robinson) who started saying he was just doing what everyone else does and says. but, i thought he was about change?
