Senator Webb says he won't be Obama's VP

I've read that never has a nominee for POTUS had so many people reject the possibility of being the V-POTUS.

If this is true, or even if it is, it makes one wonder what they know that we don't and WHY DON'T THEY VOICE THEIR CONCERNS BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE AND WE LOSE IT ALL?
