In major change, Obama says he'll support offshore drilling
David Lightman
WASHINGTON — Barack Obama Friday dropped his opposition to offshore oil drilling, saying he could go along with the idea if it was part of a broader energy package.
Obama made his comments in St. Petersburg during an interview with the Palm Beach Post. "My interest is in making sure we've got the kind of comprehensive energy policy that can bring down gas prices," he said.
"If, in order to get that passed, w e have to compromise in terms of a careful, well thought-out drilling strategy that was carefully circumscribed to avoid significant environmental damage - I don't want to be so rigid that we can't get something done," the paper quoted Obama as saying.
The change is dramatic because Obama often pointed to his opposition to drilling as a key difference between himself and presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain

This man has no substance. He will say or do anything that he (or his advisors) thinks it might help him get elected. The media let him get away from every flip-flop he made.He has no idea of his own. Why do people want this man to lead this great country? It is very sad for America. However, I still believe that God will help us defeat this man.
This habit of change as practiced by Obama marks a ruthless quest for power, and is a clear sign he is very dangerous for his lack of a robust moral compass; hunger for acquiring great power without concern about how it will be applied means he seeks the power only for his own purposes. He is a manipulator, not a leader. Our country and his rivals will suffer much if he is selected. He will only continue to compromise, because he is only seeking to consolidate his power and to guarantee his absolute authority. God help us if he is the replacement for GWB.
With ALL of the "flip-flopping" that he has done since June...can you imagine what he would do once he becomes our President...a rather scary thought.....I don't think so....some "flip-flopping" should be done before he gets that far! We can hope the Convention will change things....GOD HELP US!!!
