For Once I Completely Agree With Rachel Maddow

I am so dissappointed in President Obama for picking Rick Warren to give the inauguration invocation

I disagree w/ Maddow. She said this was Obama's FIRST big mistake? Oh - let me count the ways! How about the pathetic lack of gender parity in his cabinet? Remaining silent on the Favreau debacle? The utter lack of "transparency" on the Blagojevich/Emanuel conversations? Flip flopping on getting out of Iraq "immediately." Repealing the Bush tax cuts? An infrastructure plan that includes NO real jobs for women? The litany is bound to continue as hope and change get thrown under the bus along with women, unions, gays and lesbians, servicemen and women, college students, home owners...

If we want Real change we have to allow all points of view. I am a Christian Egalitarian and also an Evangelical. Lots of my views do not sit well with some but so be it. Clay Aitken is a Baptist and I am a Wesleyan. We do not live in a totalitarian society yet.Susan Sarandon defiently does not speak for me nor Rosie but they should be free to express.Lighten up

Sarandon and Rosie can express all they want but do they get invites to speak at Saddleback? Giving Warren an INTERNATIONAL audience when he has been unequivocally intolerant of the GLBT community is unbelievable. Having Warren - an anti-choice zealot in a country where more than half of the people believe in choice - is not being inclusive. It's just more proof that Obama represents hypocrisy taken to a whole new level.

I'll do you one better - according to Obama's official press release, Dianne Feinstein will introduce Warren and Aretha will sing after his invocation. Where's Milk when you need him? Residents of The Castro should be in the streets! And how can anyone R-E-S-P-E-C-T Aretha after this? Do any of these people have principles or are they all standing on the suck d*** line with Media Matters?

Personally I am not an avid Obama supporter, however, I think it was admirable for him to pick Warren by reaching out to different points of view makes a well-rounded event.

Moments like this make me remember how sad I am Hillary didn't win. =(

And I'm still laughing at the title of this post. I never liked Rachel M. It was sooooo obvious she wanted Obama during the primaries. I hated watching her.

I was strongly against Obama for a long time and for all the wrong reasons. I am impressed with his choosing Rick Warren, among other things, although choosing Warren is not a major decision that will effect a thing in the long run and he is not someone that I would particularly follow. Obama is clearly choosing people from all political, religious, gender and racial origins regardless of whether he agrees with them - this because he is an "inclusive" leader. He truly wants to represent/have representation from ALL of America. Because he chose Warren in no way means he agrees with him or that it will influence his agenda for America - any more than one of us visiting a friend's place of worship which is different from our own. Hopefully, we can begin to recognize we are ALL Americans who harbor a wide range of interests and passions and that it's important we have a variety of representatives standing with our president. Perhaps as Obama continues to choose in this way, we will stop judging him. We are use to getting OUR way - the old way - by having leaders who represent only our needs and wants - the very thing that we haven't liked about the past administration - their allegiance to one group, one philosophy, one religion, one ethnicity, and so on. Let's get behind the man and let's get ALL of America back on their feet. Quit making a big deal out of every decision he makes. Support of Obama in his quest to right so many wrongs with America is crucial to all of us now. He is a bright man...he did what he had to do to get elected..and some feel betrayed by his promise on the details...but that's how he had to get elected. Now, he is clearly in the middle and trying to serve the needs of ALL Americans in the best way any human could do so in this perilous time. The liberal media has to broadcast something and now it appears they are zeroing in on the lynching tree before he's even in office.

Post Note:
"Annonymous", Obama's decisions will always displease some and please others. So, you can stop keeping score. If each of us was evaluated by 36 million people for every word we said and every decision we made, we would likely become mute.

Oh, please 1st "anonymous"
You think ALL women are some super-superior beings!?
Give me a break...because just because a person has a certain chromosome doesn't make her this "uber-wonderful being" capable of doing miracles.
I know a LOT of women who are screwed up and incapable of running even their own, everyday lives!

Believe it or not, there are men who are capable and are not jerks!
I believe Obama is one of them.
Or are you too sexist to see past your ovaries?

Obama could have reached out to the Evangelical community in many other ways which would not have insulted such a significant group of his supporters. Rick Warren is a BIGOT (someone who hates and rejects a specific segment of society). He is therefore NOT a role model to be respected nor does Obama's affiliation with him reflect well on Obama. Though I am not gay, I am decisively ANTI-DISCRIMINATION. Obama's choice of Warren is outrageous! There is no excuse and he will have a hard time living this down. He clearly, I am sad to say, does not care in the least how any of his constituents feel about this!
