According to the UK Guardian Hillary is going to accept the Secretary of State position. I don't know how the UK could know before the US publications but well see.
This will leave us with even fewer women in the Senate and it'll marginalize Hillary. It'll severely limit the phenomenal work her husband has been able to do with the Clinton Global Initiative. I don't see this as a good thing at all!
PLEASE, Hillary! Stay in the Senate! Do what you do best - build coalitions, pass much-needed legislation, protect women and families! And run again in 2012. :-)
Hillary is well qualified for the job...maybe..."over" qualified..she has a rapport with our allies and world leaders respect and admire her..I would have rather seen her as POTUS...but... Beth...I agree with you about the "nutjobs" being let out of the closet...they ought to be quiet because the got what they wanted....so, let Hillary get what she wants...she'll be an asset to the Obama Administration whether people agree to it or not!!!
I certainly believe Hillary is more than qualified--she should be the president-elect. I have no idea what her motives are if she does accept, but I hate to see her part of the Obama administration. I do not believe he respects women and this would only serve to let her play into Obama's hands. Secy of State is indeed an honor but not under Obama. No matter the circumstance, I still see him as an illegimate electee and do not consider him my president.
Hillary would be excellent but I see it as a ploy of Obama to take her out of the running in 2012 as if running again she needs to start on 2010 and can't do that unless she resigns from Sec of State 2 yrs early in order to get her campaign up and running like Obama did his. I hope she declines.
A lot of people don't know his but hardly nothing gets done in the senate. All people do is try to defeat the other party's goals. I think that Hillary shouldn't stay in the senate. She would pretty much be an ambassador for the U.S. That's a pretty good deal to me. Especially since she came out in a statement saying she wasn't running for president in 2012.
With Sen. Reid, the Senate will pander to closet centrists and their chosen one Obama, even as they flounder about while "the economy" keeps sinking. State could be Hillary's Ark, that saves her AND us.
"illegitimate electee". Give me a break. I suppose if Hillary is chosen Sec. of State...a post for which I feel she is IMMENSELY qualified, BTW....then Obama will still NOT be "your president"?
This is no game with Hillary..she is doing what is necessary..She will do what is best for our country... And it will not stop her from running for president...I am surprised that Obama is offering it to her..but she is the most qualified...She an also do a great job for women's rights for other countries as well as right here at home. There is no one in the country that can beat her knowledge and knowhow for women and children today. Bill has been stupid about a lot of things, but he was not stupid for marrying Hillary. She can hold her guns to anyone out there, and be the best at what ever she wants to be... I am in her corner no matter what.

Totally unqualified!!
You had to know this would bring the nutjobs back out of the closet.
I'm still not convinced this is the best deal for Hillary, but if it's true if find it fascinating (and quite a bow to Hill!)
The best person for the job!
